I recently ordered The Double Shot Blow-Dryer Brush by DryBar. Then, I heard about Revlon Salon One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer. They look really similar, both have great reviews but have a $100 difference in price. I needed to give them both a comparison to decide which was a better spend! Here’s my face-off review!
// The Double Shot Blow-Dryer Brush //

This brush by DryBar is $150. It’s a good amount of money to spend on a hair tool. Until a couple months ago I have been using the same $30 blowdryer that I purchased in high school. Admittedly, it didn’t get much use. $150 was a hard pill to swallow but I wanted to try it out. After my first use I was pretty impressed. My hair dried faster, smoother, and with much less effort than I was used to. My mom’s thought was that it was fast and easy but she couldn’t get the same volume as a brush and blowdryer so she would pass on the purchase herself.
//One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer //

This brush by Revlon is $56.99. That’s a lot less expensive than the one I tried from DryBar. Had I heard about the Revlon option first, I wouldn’t have even tried them both. After trying the DryBar brush, I tried this one a few times. They are very similar. The Revlon’s sound is a little louder and get’s a little hotter. It also makes a strong plastic smell, which I read is normal and will go away.
// Decision //
The price difference is $100. It’s a not a huge difference functional difference between the two. Between the smell and the extreme heat that I don’t want to damage my hair I decided spending the extra money on DryBar’s double shot was worth it. If you decide to try them both for yourself, try starting with Revlon’s– it could change the outcome.
My mom and sister did not love either option. If you’re someone who has already mastered the process with a round brush and blow dryer you may prefer the option for more control, like them.
It was a great time for me to give them both a shot and I am excited to have a better way to do my hair in the mornings through COVID-19 life and when I return to the office and can begin socializing again!

It’s finally here!
The Nordstrom Anniversary sale is finally here! I scoped out some great finds at an early shopping event yesterday and checked out everything that went live on the site this morning. You can start shopping today if you’re a Nordstrom credit card holder… if not you can apply for one today and start to shop! I rounded up my favorite finds below. I put all of the items in my cart but obviously had to sift through a few before check out. Check out my fav dresses, tops, bottoms, beauty essentials, accessories, and home decor. I would buy EVERYTHING here if I could!
Everything in the sale is a new, fall item, so prices will drop for the sale and then return to normal price as fall merchandise.
Here are the items I put at the top of my must-have list!
// Dresses //
I am a huge dress girl so most of my favorites were in this category! There are a ton of amazing dresses in the sale this year. I am sharing some dresses that are great for everything from work to play!
1. I absolutely love this Tahari Cape Dress for work. I ordered it in black (pretty much my go-to) but am in love with the red as well!
// Sale Price $84.90 // After Sale $128.00 //
2. The cutest work dress! This Chelsea28 Fit and Flare dress is perfect for a day at school or the office. I like the Navy Sapphire but think all three color options are super flattering!
// Sale Price $92.90 // After Sale $139.00 //
3. How amazing is this flutter sleeve dress? I am so excited to head to work in this dress! I love the blue but ordered the …. black!
4. The perfect work or dinner dress this fall is this Bell Sleeve Dress.
5. I love that this Stipe Faux Wrap Shirt Dress can take you from work to brunch. It’s cut is super flattering and has a glam-meets-modern look that I adore.
// Tops //
I’m sharing my favorite tops from the sale. They had so much options that will be great to rock in the fall!
1. This off-the-shoulder eyelet blouse is super cute! It’s the perfect top for just about any occasion.
2. When it gets cold and you want to be comfortable, this cinched waist sweatshirt will be your staple!
Comfy and cute, yes please!
3. I love the draped look of this Leather Jacket. It looks a lot like the one I got last winter.
4. This casual Ruffle Sleeve Tee may become a teachers best friend.
5. How about thisScallop Sweater? Scalloped, need I say more?
// Bottoms //
I skipped the jeans this year because I have some hard-and-true brands I stick with that were excluded from the sale. Instead I am posting some great fall skirts, pants, and leggings (of course)
1. If you’ve never tried Alo’s yoga pants, you should! They’re definitely pricey so now would be a great time to try a pair. These Alo Godess Ribbed Leggings are super cute and on sale!
2. I have a similar pair of Utility Pants and love to wear them with a tee and wedges. I love these ones and the price!
3. Last year, I purchased theseBP. Moto Leggings in a similar green color. I wear them all fall and winter with different boots and booties.
4. I am all about the camo right now! This Camo Utility Skirt completely does it for me!
5. Like I said, all about the camo. I purchased a pair of faux leather leggings last winter that quickly became a go-to. They’re comfortable and easy to dress up. I am excited about these Faux Leather Camo Leggings by Spanx.
// Shoes //
This years sale-shoes were to-die-for! There were so many adorable sliders and booties so I am just sharing some must-haves.
1. Here are two similar booties. They are both wedge booties that are great for the snow, rain, or sludge! The first is the Sorrell Waterproof wedge booties and these UGG Waterproof Wedge booties . I love them both but prefer the monochromatic look of the UGGs.
2. These Casper booties are the perfect fall shoe.
3. These slides pretty much came in a bunch of colors. I loved two but based on instagram you all preferred the black Bow Slide.
// Sale Price $84.90 // After Sale $129.95 //
4. I know I want these Delicious Heeled booties but I haven’t been able to decide between the black or nude suede.
5. I love these easy Lash Split Shaft Booties . They’re easy fall boots that can dress up and outfit and would pair great with a cute fall dress!
// Beauty //
One of my favorite parts of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale every year is the beauty. I stock-up on products I use throughout the year because you can find great items at that otherwise never go on sale! If you’ve read my “My favorite Hair Products” post, you’ll see a lot of my favorite items are part of the sale!
1. If you haven’t tried the Beachwaver yet you should! I love that this is a 1 1/4 inch barrel. It will give you perfect big waves. It’s on the anniversary sale, 1 1/4″ beachwaver.
2. I love the Oribe dry texture spray. This is a great price for the Oribe Spray duo, and I am excited to try the other product!
3. I love Philosophy facewash. My face always feels so clean after using this face wash. It rarely goes on sale so I snap up the Purity Trio Set at the anniversary sale.
4. I’ve been dying for a light controlled mirror. This is one of those things your mom probably has that you’ve always wanted. I love the size of this 8 inch mirror with brightness control .
5. A couple years ago I started getting lash extensions. They were really great most of the time! To save time and money I quit and started purchasing neuLash. This stuff works so well and I only buy it during the sale each year!
// Accessories //
There are a ton of beautiful accessories as part of the sale this year! Of course, many of the ones I liked the most were well out of my budget ($400 earrings). Here are a few more affordable options that are super cute!
1. This suitcase is probably my favorite purchase from the 2018 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! I’ve never had nice luggage and the price for two is a pretty good deal. Plus, I love how easy the blue will be to find at the luggage claim!
2. Check-out these super cute Halfmoon Fringe Earrings! I am obsessed!
3. I’m a huge fan of the blanket scarf. I love this Stripe Blanket Scarf.
4. If you’ve been needing a new carry-all, check out this monogram Oversize Tote. It is full of things I love: stripes, monograms, and big enough to tote all I need. I linked the black but my instagram showed the white as more popular so check that one out too!
5. There’s nothing catty about these Oversize Sunglasses .
Quay’s been super popular for oversize sunglasses and I am loving these cat-eye ones!
// Home //
Last year the “home” part of the sale really got me! It was the first year during this sale that I was a homeowner and was so excited to be able to purchase some high-end pieces while they were on sale. I am sharing a few favorites that I will add to my place.
1. These three coasters are all adorable. Check out these coasters and these ones that are marble and wood. They’re perfect for a modern or contemporary living room! These home state coasters are perfect for the proud local or girl who is new-to-town!
2. I found two towel sets I thought were super cute! These kitchen towels and these turkish towels.
3. As I said, I love marble! I am super excited about this soap dispenser. I ordered it for my downstairs powder-room.
4.I ordered this Herringbone Rug from the 2017 Anniversary Sale. It has held up really well and has a great modern look!
5. I love using an aromatherapy diffuser in my home. This one is super cute!
I tried to keep all my favorites down to five so they were easier to shop. Did you find this post helpful to navigate the anniversary sale? Wish I had talked about some different merchandise? Share you thoughts below so I can make future posts more helpful to readers!

Straight, fine hair can tough! It’s great that it’s easy to manage because it rarely gets out of control or wild. However, it’s really tough to keep smooth, give volume, create texture, and worst, hold your style! I am sharing my favorite hair products. These products help take care of the locks you have and create the look of thicker, more voluminous tresses.
I use these types of products on a regular basis. I go through phases where I will spend different amounts of money on hair products. I also simply like to switch products up sometimes! Some brands of products I alternate between while other brands I use pretty exclusively. If you want to try them out, you can see which you like better or choose the kind that works for your budget. I love everything I am sharing!
Here are my 10 favorite hair products, they’re great for hair like mine!
1. Hair ties: I am obsessed with these L. Erickson Ponytail Holders
they don’t slide out of your hair and they keep hold your hair put too. Plus, they’re soft and don’t have any metal that can damage your hair. They come in all different colors. I buy the beige color ones and have found they blend in really well with a variety of blonde hair shades.

2. Dry Texturizing Spray: When I started using a texture spray in my hair, my world of hair completely changed! I have tried a few different kinds and have two absolute favorites! My number one choice is ORIBE Dry Texturizing Spray
. This stuff smells amazing, I always get compliments on my overall smell when I use this in my hair. I cannot emphasize how heavenly this stuff smells! A full-size bottle of the ORIBE Dry Texturizing Spray
is about $46. My second choice is Garnier Fructis Style Texture Tease Dry Touch Finishing Spray
it is still works and smells great but is going to cost you less than $5, which is a pretty great price.

3. Tangle Teezer: I’m not sure if you have heard of the Tangle Teezer
. They are gaining popularity with girls who have hair like mine and for good reason! The Tangle Teezer
has two uses. The first, it gets knots out of your (wet or dry) hair painlessly. If you have fine hair, you know how easily it gets knotted together. It can be painful and can take awhile to get all your knots out. The second, it works great to tease the top of your hair. This is a great way to add volume to your hair whether you’re putting it up or leaving it down. I’ve been using it before I curl my hair or before I throw it up into a top-knot or pony and it makes my hair so much fuller! It comes in a variety of color options, I pretty much always choose to buy things in black or white. It was also designed ergonomically, which makes it really comfortable to grip!

4. Curling Wand: I recently learned how to curl my hair with a wand, thanks to a very patient roommate and friend! For the first few months she let me borrow her wand but I usually had to have her curl it for me. After deciding I may not have the skills to use a wand and a little bit of research I came across the The Beachwaver Co. Beachwaver Pro Curling Iron
. This made curling my hair with a wand so much easier! It’s so fast, has a consistent outcome, and makes it a one handed job!

5. Heat Protection: When you already don’t have a lot of hair you have to protect what you’ve got! Before I use any heat on my hair I make sure to use something to help protect my locks! I have two favorite heat protectors. The first is Beauty Protector Protect & Detangle. This hair product has an amazing smell and comes in a bottle is easy to pump and sprays a good amount at a time. A full size is about $24. My second choice is TRESemme Thermal Creations Heat Tamer. A bottle of this will cost you less than $5. I think the TRESemme Thermal Creations Heat Tamer is really effective and still has a nice smell.

6. Dry Shampoo: That whole “second day” look doesn’t come easy for me! My fine hair gets really oily, really fast! Dry shampoo can always extend my style for a second though. There are two types of dry shampoo that I love. The first is Bumble and Bumble Pret-A-Powder Shampoo
. This is a little different formula than the normal dry shampoo, it comes in a bottle that is similar to a baby powder. You just dump a little on the top of your head and throughout your hair then rub it in like you would any other dry shampoo. I love this for a few reasons! The bottle is a little smaller, which makes it great to travel with! It isn’t an aerosol so you can carry it on to a flight. You have a little more control over how much you use. This one is a little more expensive at $30 a bottle so you want to know that a little is going to take you a long way! I also always keep Herbal Essences Dry Shampoo
on hand. I love the way this dry shampoo smells. In the aerosol bottle it is a bit faster to apply but you use a lot at once so it doesn’t last me as long. A bottle of this is under $9.

7. Shampoo and Conditioner: I like to alternate my shampoo and conditioner pretty often. Sometimes I think that getting different nutrients into your hair helps keep it healthy (a completely personal opinion). Currently, I am using OGX Hydrate & Color Reviving + Lavender Luminescent Platinum Shampoo
and OGX Hydrate & Tone Reviving & Lavender Luminescent Platinum Conditioner
. I feel like they are helping extend my color by removing brassiness and boosting blonde tones. Plus this shampoo and conditioner contains uva/uvb sun-filters (which will help extend color). The OGX products are also sulfate-free, paraben-free, and dye-free.

8. Darby Clips: I purchased these The Beachwaver Co. Darby Clips
when I first began curling my hair. They really helped me section my hair which sped up my entire process. I bought mine at the same time I got my The Beachwaver Co. Beachwaver Pro Curling Iron
. I didn’t realize there were so many types and brands out there. To be honest, if I were to do it again I wouldn’t feel so committed to the Beachwaver Co. brand because they sell them everywhere, and a lot of stores and brands have them at a great price!
I also linked these well-priced Darby Clips from Amazon 10 Piece Professional Hair Styling and Sectioning Clips
and would recommend checking out a store like Marshalls or TJ Maxx for some deals on your Darby Clips.

.

9. In-Shower Styler: I starting using this, Living Proof Perfect Hair Day In Shower Styler
, in-shower styler after receiving a sample. I could feel so much more texture in my hair after just letting it air-dry that I decided to purchase it to use all the time!

10. Hairspray: The last step to (some) hair styles is some hair spray! I actually try to avoid hair spray as much as possible because I don’t love the stiffness it adds to my hair and my texturizing sprays normally do the trick. If I know I am going to be having a later night, or a big-day where I need my hair to really stay put I will use John Frieda Luxurious Volume Forever Full Hairspray for Fine Hair
. This hairspray is less than $10 and helps to build volume. I like that it has a continuous aerosol spray instead of a pump. Ultimately I choose this hairspray because it leaves my hair more flexibility than other hairsprays.
